For all its beauty, Northern Michigan has always asked you to pick one.
Resorts sell exclusivity, but only on their schedule — a spa slot shared with strangers, a pool deck that's never really yours, a hallway between you and everyone else staying there too. Rentals sell privacy, but nothing else — no one at the door, no one resetting the hot tub, just a lockbox code and a listing's broken promises.
Amíra is a private collection of residences on a bluff in Northern Michigan, near Harbor Springs. It takes the exclusivity a resort sells you and makes it entirely your own. Your own soaking tub, whenever you want it, never shared, never scheduled. No hallways, because there are none to share. The only things not entirely yours are the view outside, and the path that leads you home to it.

Amíra takes its name from two roots, woven together — ami, to love, and mira, to look. To love a place is to really see it: not glance past it on the way to somewhere else, but stop, and take it in.
It's why every residence is built around a carefully chosen view, rather than away from it. Even the walk in asks something of you: a stone path through the pines that has you seeing again before you've reached the door.
You start noticing things you wouldn't on a weekend built around checklists. How the light moves across the water, hour by hour. How the pines sound different at dusk than at dawn. How a view you've looked at a dozen times still surprises you on the thirteenth. That's not incidental. It's the whole idea.
Amíra brings the calm and care of the world's great retreats to a part of Michigan most people know only for eight weeks in July and August — reimagined for every season and built for real rest, not just a getaway.
The rest of the year, the crowds go home and the region gets quiet, the kind of quiet Amíra was built around. Fall turns the bluff to color. Winter settles the lake into flat silver, steam lifting off an outdoor soaking tub into air cold enough to see your breath, with skiing and snowshoeing just down the road. Spring arrives slowly, ice breaking up on the water and the woods coming back green in patches.
Summer is still the reason most people find this shore: the beaches, the small towns worth an afternoon, the region at its liveliest. But a getaway ends when the season does. Amíra doesn't wait for one to start.

Each residence stands alone, complete and private. No hallways to pass through. No neighbors to notice. Floor-to-ceiling glass connects every room to the lake or the woods just outside, so you're in the middle of the landscape without ever needing to step out into it.
Every Comfort, All to Yourself.
A king bed. A walk-in shower finished in stone. A deep soaking tub for two on your own deck, and in the warmer months, a hammock facing the view.
An adults-only retreat by design, with select weekends set aside for families.
Every stay at Amíra is shaped around the guest, beginning well before arrival and lasting until it's time to leave.
A few questions about you, so your stay can be shaped around what you love. Then your keycard arrives in the mail, along with a note on what to expect, the services on hand, and where to eat nearby.
Scan your keycard and walk in. No front desk, no codes to keep track of. Just the door, and the view waiting on the other side of it.
A welcome chosen just for you, with a Michigan twist. A bottle from Traverse City, if wine is your thing. Sweet or salty, whichever you prefer. A voucher for two cookies at Tom's Mom's Cookies down the road, every stay. And a personal note, thanking you for coming.
A refresh on request, with fresh towels whenever you'd like them. On your first night, a turndown while you're out for the evening, so the residence is ready when you return.
Leave when you're ready, with optional late checkout. The last morning is yours to enjoy, not to rush.
Every part of the stay is designed to leave you undisturbed. And if you ever need anything, we're just a text away.

A shared space for when you want one, never required. Down the road, a central gathering place will open alongside the residences: a fireplace lounge for slow evenings, a gym with scheduled classes, an indoor-outdoor space for music and quiet company, and in time, a pool of its own.
The residence remains yours alone. The grounds are simply there, if you choose them.
Clean, modern forms in wood and glass, grounded by concrete, built for this land and nowhere else. Every material was chosen to age well and settle into its surroundings.
Nothing around the residences has been manicured into submission. Native trees left standing. The terrain left uneven, not graded flat. The bluff shaped just enough to move through. It's restraint: building into the landscape, rather than over it.
At night, the residences glow softly from within — warm light against dark water, the only sign that something is there at all.

Amíra is an idea being built, not yet a finished place. The name, the design, and the residences you've seen here are real work already done, with plenty more ahead.
Right now, we're looking for investors and partners who want to help take Amíra from concept to reality.
I grew up in Michigan and Northern Michigan has always been my escape, the place I can go to actually slow down, watch the water, and remember what quiet feels like.
While working in hospitality, I kept running into the same problem: there is nowhere to book that felt genuinely luxurious. Big resorts that never felt like they were just for us. One-off rentals with no one looking after the details. A weekend away always meant giving something up.
Why choose between the privacy of a rental and the service of a resort, when a place could give you both? Amíra is my answer to that question, not a compromise, but simply the getaway I always wished existed.
Whether you'd like to help bring Amíra to life or simply have thoughts to share, we'd like to hear from you.
